This weeks' learning:

Maths
This week, we will continue to work with 3D shapes. 
1. Look at the 'Describe 3D shapes' powerpoint. Talk about the sahpes you see, what are they like? e.g "It looks like an icecream cone" " it is curved" etc
2. Look at the 'talk about shapes' powerpoint. Talk about the shapes you can see. Can you name any of them. 
We are also learning to find the total number of objects in two groups by counting all of them to begin simple addition.
3. Pick 2 handfuls of toys or objects. Count each group e.g 4 and 5. Then count them all to find out how many altogether. 
4. Look at the 'Early addition' worksheet. count the 2 sets of objects, then count how many altogether. You could practice writing the number on paper.

Literacy
We will continue to use the 'Little red hen' story for our literacy work this week.
1. Re-read the story with an adult.
2. Have a go at the Oak National academy lesson HERE Learn the story through song. 
3. Look at the pictures of the characters from the story. Write the names of these characters.
4. Have a look at the picture from the story. What is happening in the picture? Write a caption to go with the picture. 

Reading
Each day, read your books on Bug Club. 
Then have a go at the phonics text attached. Have a go at answering the questions. 

Phonics
1. Sing along with the jolly phonics songs.HERE
2. Practise recognising and writing the phase 2 sounds attached. Use this website to help you form your letters HERE Use your finger to write the sounds in the air, on the floor, then with a pencil, write the sound on paper. 
3. Play the Buried treasure game on Phonicsplay.co.uk HERE Choose the phase 2 sounds. This game will help you to read words. Sound out the word, then blend the sounds together to read the word.
4. Look at the pictures in the file names 'Write the word' Use your sounds to help you spell the words. 
5.  Look at the file named 'Questions for reading'. Use your phonics to help you to read the sentences.
