This week we would like you to look at the maths work from your year group. We are focussing on our arithmetic skills. Practise makes perfect!

Y5

As usual, we have uploaded the answers for this week's activities so you can mark your own. Play the roll of the teacher! You can mark it before sending it to us. We will then have a look at how you have done, and feedback as soon as we are able.  We can help with any misconceptions you may have.

Day 2: Bug Club: You have a range of levelled fiction, non-fiction and poetry books in your Bug Club library. Remember, wherever you see a bug there is a question waiting to be answered!

Day 1: Click HERE to watch the video and then complete the ‘Word Challenge’.

Writing
Use the uploaded plans (as we did with the Meerkats one last week) to write a short story in the style of Shaun Tan.

Science
This week we are looking at the heart in more detail. We have uploaded two diagrams for you to label with the answers for you to look at too in case you get stuck. It is a challenge… 

 

PSHCE
We are thinking about what embarrasses us and learning something about ourselves that we didn’t know before. Watch the uploaded POWERPOINT and then have a go at the uploaded TASKs - 1, 2 and 3.

 

Art
We are looking at whether graffiti can be considered art. We have looked in class at different artists like Banksy, and our own Sheffield artist Pete McKee. Have a go at designing your own name or positive word / message in the style of graffiti writing.

RE
After looking at the difference between justice and freedom, this week we will look at human rights and how this is related to justice and freedom. Read the POWERPOINT then complete the uploaded sorting activity.

 

French
This week in French, we will be describing what someone else looks like. Go through the POWERPOINT and complete the task on the last slide.
