Reading
Day 1: 
Bug Club: You have a range of levelled fiction, non-fiction and poetry books in your Bug Club library. Remember, wherever you see a bug there is a question waiting to be answered!
Day 2:
 Stage 5: She's a witch Reading Comprehension or for an easier text try Stage 4: The Three Bears  or Stage 3:There was an old lady . Or, complete all three. 
Day 3:
Read, 'The Chase' and complete the questions.

Day 1:
Practise the Y5/6 spelling exception words. They can be found in the 'Reading and spelling key words' tab at the top of the Year 5/6T class page.
Day 2: CLICK HERE
to watch the video of Sunstar Starfish then complete the ‘Word Challenge’.  Click on ‘The Grammar Bit’ to revise how to write sentences using subordinating conjunctions.
Day 3: CLICK HERE 
to watch the video again, and then complete the ‘Whiteboard Challenges’.
Day 4: 
Complete the uploaded ‘Nature Worksheet’. 
Day 5:

Writing 
Day 1:
 Practise the Y5/6 spelling exception words. They can be found in the 'Reading and spelling key words' tab at the top of the Year 5/6T class page.
Day 2:
Reread the poem, 'The Highwayman' by Alfred Noyles. Use the uploaded blank storyboard to illustrate the sequence of events in the poem - what happens. Try to think about the main events only.
Day 3:
Today we are using our thinking skills: we will create a feelings graph for each of the main characters: The Highwayman, Bess and Tim the Ostler.
Day 4:
Practise telling your story out loud using the storyboard to help you. Which character are you?
Day 5: 
Write the story of The Highwayman from the point of view of one of the characters. How will you convey your emotions? How will you decribe the events you did not witness (see)?

 

PE

Continue to take part in 'Beat the Street'.  See how far you can walk, cycle, run, scoot and roll this week.

What is your favourite hobby? This week, we will be learning about hobbies and your opinion on hobbies.  Go through the uploaded 'Hobbies' POWERPOINT then the  'Opinions on hobbies' POWERPOINT and complete the tasks on slides 6 and 7.

 

Music
World Music Day is held each year on 21st June. The Summer Solstice, the day with the most hours of sunlight in the year, also takes place on this date each year.  Play the uploaded POWERPOINT to learn about the History of Music - the different musical styles through the 20th century.
