Readathon Live! Why not join in with a mass reading of a poem 'Mrs City' from children and families across Sheffield? Writing 

Day 1: SPAG

Spellings - complete the uploaded Y1/2, Y3/4, Y5/6, common words and practise your handwriting at the same time.

Get confused using Their, they're or there? CLICK HERE to watch and practise the homphones. Complete the uploaded task.

Revise the present perfect and past perfect tense. CLICK HERE to watch and read about it. Play the PowerPoint 'Present Perfect 1' and complete the uploaded task. 

Day 2: Chapter 4 'Gibbins and Ghosts'  - CLICK HERE to listen to Chapter 4 being read and/or read the uploaded copy. Then complete the uploaded true and false questions, reading comprehension and 'Glossary' TASK. LESSON STARTER

Day 3: Reread Chapter 4 starting from p49 'I sat up...'. Create a storyboard of Michael’s ‘awakening’ on the beach and journey around the island. Where does he go? What is he looking for? Then add emotions/feelings (physical and emotional) to your storyboard. LESSON STARTER

        

   

Day 3: SPaG Play the PowerPoint 'Present Perfect 2'.

Day 4: Write out the journey around the island as an 'Island log' similar to the 'Ship's log'. You should write in 1st person and the past tense. LESSON STARTER

Day 5:  Write Now! Look at the uploaded 'About to hatch...' TASK. Read the story starter and continue the writing. Use the 'Question Time' to help you with ideas for your writing. Aim to write for 30 - 40 minutes and produce at least a page of A4. You may want to read your finished piece to someone in your family and see what they think. We look forward to reading them too. We want you to consider the learning styles from last week and plan how you will carry out the task explaining as you go along. Geography

Play the Tudor Explorers PowerPoint. Your task is to write a fact file about them. You might need to conduct further research to find out more specific details about your chosen explorer.

Continue to use this board to share where you have been in the world. Remember to say who you are so we know and why you were there. Can you find where Miss Tejeda, Miss Ditte, Miss Button and Miss Chan have been? Why not write a comment or ask a question to show you know.
