Maths

As usual, we have uploaded the answers for this week's activities so you can mark your own. Play the roll of the teacher! You can mark it before sending it to us. We will then have a look at how you have done, and feedback as soon as we are able.  We can help with any misconceptions you may have.

Bug Club: You have a range of levelled fiction, non-fiction and poetry books in your Bug Club library. Remember, wherever you see a bug there is a question waiting to be answered!

Use this PowerPoint to help boost your reading skills and your ability to infer and deduct information from a text or an image. In the PowerPoint, there's a range of activities for you to get involved with to test your skills.

Day 1: Click HERE to watch the video of Elephant Seals then complete the ‘Word Challenge’. 
Day 2: Click on ‘The Grammar Bit’ to revise how to write sentences using an active or passive voice.
Day 3: Click HERE to watch the video again, and then complete the ‘Whiteboard Challenges’
Day 4: Complete the uploaded ‘Nature Worksheet’.
Day 5: Time to practise your weekly spellings.
Y5 & Y6 Spellings - Words with the 'or' sound spelt 'au'.

Writing

Day 1: Plan your creative instructions on 'How To Make A Pet'.
Day 2:
Edit and improve your writing. Have you checked the punctuation? Have you included bullet points or semi colons in a list?

Day 3: Redraft your writing for presentation. Start to write out your work using Level 3 presentation. 
Day 4:
Add drawings, illustrations and cut out lettering from old newspapers. 

Day 5: Write Now! - A Dangerous Pet. Read the uploaded TASK and write a story. Use the story starter below to help:

The King had known that the gift he presented to his children on their 5th birthday was dangerous. He was prepared to take the risk of letting them own a pet dragon, however. One day, the twins would rule the kingdom together, and they would need all the help they could get. No-one could deny that a dragon was a powerful ally!

Before that day, though, the children had much work to do. They had to train their dragon!

Science
This week we are looking at how diet and exercise affect our body weight. Read the profiles on the uploaded TASK and add up the calorie intake for each person. Are they eating the right kinds of food? What advice would you give them?

 

PSHCE
This week we will be learning about setting ourselves goals and challenges. Read the POWERPONT and the INSTRUCTIONS and then complete the uploaded TASK. 

 

RE
Following from last week's RE lesson, research and complete the uploaded fact file about a key individual who has been part of a non-violent protest movement. To help you write the fact file you can use the uploaded information sheets: Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Aung San Suu Kyi (from last week’s RE), John Hume or Martin Luther King.

 

French
This week, we will be revising the vocabulary for clothes. Go through the uploaded POWERPOINT and complete the task on the last slide.
